Exec says Cherkizovo can sell $150–180 mln of poultry to China ‘20

MOSCOW, Nov 14 (PRIME) -- Russian meat producer Cherkizovo Group plans to sell U.S. $150–180 million worth of poultry to China in 2020, Andrei Terekhin, head of the exports business, told reporters on Thursday.

“Our plans for the next year in real terms are 50,000–60,000 tonnes, in monetary terms about $150–180 million,” Terekhin said.

He also said that in a more distant future, Cherkizovo can sell meat to the supermarket chains and restaurants, such as KFC and ÌcDonald's. “We are considering not only raw material supplies but entry into deeper sales channels, delivery to catering chains, such as KFC, ÌcDonald's and others,” he said.

According to Terekhin, Cherkizovo is considering joint pork projects with Chinese investors. He said that the projects can envisage investment in Russian pig farms and Chinese processing facilities. “We are thinking, this is at a very early stage.”
